Jeannette Douglas Designs began in 1998 after a family trip to the Rockies... the rest is history.
About
Jeannette Douglas
Although Jeannette Douglas created her first needlework designs after this special trip, stitching has always been a part of Jeannette's life. As a teenager, she enjoyed many different types of needlework. Jeannette has a background in floral design and folk art painting, both of which give her knowledge of color and design. She puts a great deal of research in her designing efforts. Regular visits to stitch shops in the United States, Canada and overseas has been a big part of her business since 2002.
Jeannette Douglas lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with her husband and two daughters. She still works casual/relief shifts in the Psychiatric unit at a local hospital where she worked for many years. She is a singer and sang with the Calgary Philharmonic Choir for 20 years.
The Dynamic Helpers
Jeannette Douglas Designs has some dynamite helpers behind the scenes that make most days run smoothly! These people help make this home- based design company the exciting place it is today.
Wilma Cupido and Kathy Cairns are the “factory’ and make all the embellishment or thread packs.
Vickilynne Schleppe maintains the bookeeping part of the business to help keep us working smoothly.
Beth Allan from Dartmouth, NS has been model stitching for Jeannette since 2000 and is one amazing stitcher who can interpret absolutely wild directions.
Flo Osborne from Stoney Creek, ON is also a model stitcher extraordinaire who does the proof stitching and editing for our designs
